4/2/07 - Lunch

Picked up Patty in Ojai and we surfed a double-over-ankle C Street. Then we went on a tour of downtown Ventura eateries for lunch and found a hole in the wall Taqueria Vallarta (unrelated to the Santa Cruz venues) on the main drag. Perfect.

I dug into some nachos: chips, sour cream, cheese, beans, chicken, salsa and guacamole. After a beer, this dish said 'nap time.' Back at the Williams residence we dozed on the deck, drank tea and ate cookies.

With the light waning, we rode bikes through town and ate dinner at a roadhouse on the outskirts of Ojai. We both ordered buffalo burgers with fries. No photographic evidence exists of this conquest but I confess that the burgers were dynamite. How does one follow a day of this sort?

3/30/07 - Lunch

First I decided on some Texas ranch beans...and then I started feeling sorry for not eating the kale I bought the week before.

I heated the beans in a pot, sauteed some onions and then the kale and for shits and giggles, toasted some whole wheat bread.

As I ate this I wondered what brought me to this peculiar culinary choice: first and only reason, I ate out of desperatation (I hadn't shopped in a week).

I can't recommend this combination, but it did the job.

3/26/07 - Lunch

Lasagna with lots of grilled asparagus seasoned with salt, pepper, & oregano. I felt so healthy eating some greens.

Later, in the loo, my urine smelled like a DuPont factory.

3/25/07 - Lunch

Same burrito as before: flower tortilla, avocado, refried beans, & bbq sauce. Had this for dinner at the shop later. I'm still eating like a student.

Luke was in full multitasking mode, fixing his golf cart and watching March Madness on the kitchen TV pointed out the door. He was spraying chemicals outside and the fumes drifted into the kitchen, ruining my appetite.

3/23/07 - Lunch

Flour tortilla, avocado, & refried beans, w/Bone Suckin' bbq sauce. I 'borrowed' the sauce from Luke without asking. He hasn't noticed. Thanks, Luke.

03/13/07 - Lunch

I had to go to the bank at lunch today, and BofA is really close to In&Out. The choice for lunch was simple. I went a little later to avoid the usual lunch rush at a place like this. It didn't disappoint. I'm almost done with my lunch reading material "Darwin's God."

03/10/07 - Lunch

I accidentally deleted yesterday's meals (pizza and a meatball sandwich). Today I went to an old standby. Now that the McNugget's are white meat, they taste a little better. Something about McDonald's coke is amazing. I'm not sure if they do something to the carbonation or what, but it compliments the french fries. More on this meal in the next update.

03/07/07 - Lunch

Buritro from Baja Fresh. Against my better judgment. They fucked this up twice. I like it with just beef, rice and cheese. Apparently they thought I said without beef, rice and cheese, contrary to the receipt and tag they had. On the third time, they just scraped the guacamole and salsa off and put beef rice and cheese on, so there was still the guacamole. I hate eating at work. What a waste of like $8.
